What I Love About New York

So today I was thinking... this experience here in NY is going to go by sooo fast, we have to soak in every little bit that we can. Mel and I have been planning all of these little trips and places we want to go while we're here and 9 months is not a long time!! So we need to do them fast. It's almost been a month and I am getting sad that the warm weather is going away... but I am also sooo excited to experience Fall here in Manhattan. If anyone has any neat ideas of places to go, restaurants to eat at, or just daily activities to do here in NY- I would love to have you share them!
Anyways... I know that I'll look back on this experience and want to remember everything that I felt, or experienced or saw. So, here are some things that I love about NY:
I love that everything is so close!
I love that you can find great food wherever you go
I love looking around and seeing places that have been in movies you know?! That's always fun for a movie buff like me =)
I love seeing all of the fun fashion all over the city
I love that people are dog lovers here
I love that there is always something to do
I love all of the parks
I love being able to know my way around the city (well I guess I'm getting there)
I know there will be much more but I thought I would share that as of now!
Lately it's been nice just hanging out everyday, doing whatever I want! I am not really working and I'll be honest, that was weird at first but now I am actually loving it. I thought that I would take advantage of the good weather and have the chance to explore the city while I can. So I am! Mel and I will do a run in the park here and there, run errands, explore the city, read our books in the park, etc. Here are some cool pics of the city we took just walking around with my parents when they were here one night.

Here is the Columbia Library where Jeff studies! Very cool library. What's so fun about Columbia is that so many people hang out on campus all hours of the night.

Sounds like so much fun! I think it would be fun to live in a big city for awhile, but never forever!

What a great experience. Cafe Lalo is yummy!! You know the cafe in You've got Mail where she waits for her internet lover and Tom Hanks shows up? Try the belgium waffle with cinnamon whip cream and the brie and cracked pepper sandwich so delish. 201 W 83rd St. upper west side.

Katie -- Oh my gosh, how fun!!! I am so happy for you guys that you're having this incredible experience. I love New York so much, too, and I've always wanted to have the chance to live there for a while. I'm glad you're taking advantage of every moment.

Take care!
