Florida in January

Wow it was good to be home for a while... ok I know it isn't home but it definitely felt like that going back! It was almost like Jeff and I just took a breath and felt rejuvenated. It was so nice. Jeff had a conference in Boca Raton and of course Izzy and I were like well we are coming with! And we took the rest of the weekend to head back to Miami. It was wonderful.
The first thing we did when we got off the plane was get our rental car, and head to Jeff's project in Broward County (about 30 minutes from Miami). This project was Jeff's baby when he worked at Carlisle Development. When we lived in Miami, Jeff worked as a Developer in Affordable Housing. And this project is called Ehlinger (East Village). Jeff did every little detail.  From the design, to the architecture, floor plan, landscaping, colors, pools, kitchen countertops, carpet, moldings... everything!  He did it all. Carlisle literally just said- this is all  you. You choose what you want to do with the loan money. Of course with help of the architect and county.  He put his blood and sweat in this. All the late nights working until midnight (literally EVERY night) were put in this project. I am so proud of him. Well we unfortunately left before he could see the finished product. So we had to see it when we came to visit. As we pulled up to the project, we got out of the car and I look over at Jeff taking a deep breath. It was a neat moment for both of us. We both knew that a lot of our life in Miami was this project! They named it one of the nicest, most detailed garden style affordable housing they had ever had. It was AMAZING!!!

We enjoyed the Miami beached again with our little Izzy. She loved every minute of it.

My 2 favorite people... like peas and carrots :)

Izzy was so exhausted, she actually slept on the beach which is so not like her.
The best part of the trip was we got to visit our island that we lived on. Every day at 5:00 p.m., I would hear out my window kids playing on the lawn and the fountain. 75 degrees out, beautiful sunset. It was heaven. I would take Izzy as a baby and walk around that island at least 3 times a day. Now it was so fun to have her there as a toddler. She was finally able to enjoy that fountain.
When Jeff left, I was able to stay with my good friend Amanda and enjoy Miami, Key Biscayne, and Brickell Key. It was great to see old friends.

fun trip!
