So fun for them to meet little Iz

We laid by the pool, went out to fun lunches and had a great BBQ by our pool. Here they are in our pretty kitchen making the yummy food.

Spread the Magic

Today I am posting about a great family that needs help. These 2 are some great friends I knew back in High School and their story amazes me! I feel that I have been selfish up until the day that I had a baby... because now I can't even imagine some of the things families go through. I saw this on her blog and on FB and I thought I would forward it on so that everyone can read their amazing story.

Because I'm an idiot- I don't know how to attach their video, but please click on this link and it will truly inspire you! Their blog will show where to make donations :)

1 Month!

Wow I can't believe how fast time has gone! They grow up so fast :) Now I can see why everyone loves to post pics of their kids- I can't stop!
She amazes us everyday... we absolutely love being parents. It's so fun!
She is already smiling and showing expressions it's so cute.

1 week old
2 weeks old
3 weeks old (thanks for the idea of putting them next to a stuffed animal Mir!)

2nd bath at 2 weeks old
this is my most favorite part of the day! She is a great sleeper holy cow- she could sleep through the night if I let her. She'll sleep for 6-7 hours, and then I have to wake her up to feed her! Everyone tells me I am very lucky... I even complain about waking up once in the night- so I can't imagine waking up every 2 hours! I think she gets the great sleeping from her daddy :)
3 weeks

My friend Megan got her this adorable "urban" outfit- I had to try it out!

We had Jeff's family in town and every morning we would bring her in to sleep next to Eric- and she always had a smile on her face!
Izzy with uncle E Wood

Eric and Jeff
We had a great time going out to fun lunches and dinners while they were in town. It was nice to get out! Thank you Wood fam!

Here she is at 1 month old! I just want to put like 10 outfits on her a day and just take pictures... it's so fun

love you Iz :)

Isabelle Kate Wood

Born July 16th at 4:08 a.m.
6 lbs 1 oz
She is here!! Our baby girl made it safe and sound... healthy and happy! Isabelle "Izzy" Kate Wood.
Wow what an amazing experience... one that we will remember forever.

So as some of you may know, I was due on July 10th.. but she decided that she didn't want to come on time just yet... so my mom and I just hung out! My mom came out on July 8th and it actually ended up working out just great. I got to just hang with her everyday... we would sleep in, go to the pool, grab a fun lunch, get pedicures, go the pool again, order in take out, blow up the bed in the tv room and watch movies! We had a blast. There is nothing better than having your mom take care of you before and after a baby... She would take Willie out for me, make us dinner, adjust my pillow when I would be resting... you name it! I loved every minute.

My cute little brother Trey saved up his money to come out to see Jeff and I before he left on his mission. We loved it! And the best part is he was able to see little Izzy.

Here we are just about to leave to the hospital!
So it all started on Thursday, July 15th... I was scheduled to check into the hospital at 7:00 p.m. So I got ready, Jeff came home from work, my mom helped us pack our bags and we were off. When we got to the hospital, the nurse showed us to our room. I asked the nurse "so what's the plan from here?" She said that they would give me medicine tonight, and then a sleeping pill so that I can get some rest, then they would break my water at 7:00 a.m. the next morning and I should have her by the afternoon. My mom then asked "is there any way she could go in the middle of the night? Like should I stay over with her?" The nurse said that she has been a nurse for 23 years and only 1 of her patients had her baby within 7 hours... well I broke their record :)
They gave me the medicine at 8:30 p.m. within in hour, I started having contractions. My mom went and got my little brother and came back to the hospital. by the time she got back, my contractions were getting pretty painful and as she looked at the monitor- she's like "those are like 5 minutes apart!" I was like "is this really it?! Or do I have to go all night with this pain?!" I didn't really know what to think... but then they started getting pretty bad. Jeff held my hand and then went and got the nurse (I had a horrible nurse by the way...) by the time she came in, I was dilated to a 2 and my contractions were 2 minutes apart and pretty painful. So she gave me some medicine to help with the pain. By about midnight, my mom and brother left and Jeff and I fell asleep. Luckily the medicine helped. Well about a half hour later I whisper to Jeff "Jeff! I think my water just broke!" The nurse came in and said "yep your water broke!" So Jeff called my mom to come back to the hospital. Right away is when my contractions got really bad. So that's when they ask the #1 question "do you want the epidural?" So I guess it was time! They had Jeff leave the room which I was bummed about... but getting the epidural wasn't bad at all. When they were done, my mom and Jeff came in. This was about 2:00 a.m. and I was dilated to a 6. The nurse then said "let me know when you start feeling pressure"... well within 45 minutes, I started feeling it. So by 2:45 I was dilated to a 10! It was time. They called the doctor at home and I started pushing. A little bit before, we were a little scared because her heart rate started going down because the cord was wrapped around her neck. But the doctor was awesome and stayed very calm. He was able to pull it off her really fast. And the coolest part was, he let me pull her out. He said "give me your hands" and I grabbed her head and then placed my hands under her arms. Greatest feeling ever. I lifted her up in the air and she opened her eyes for the first time. It was the best moment of my life... I put her on my chest and was seriously in shock. I couldn't believe that I had a baby girl! As you all know, there is not a better feeling or moment to have. Jeff cut the cord and we were in tears. Greatest time of our lives! Well worth the wait my little one... well worth the wait :)

my first time holding her after her cleaning
Jeff's first time holding her after she was cleaned... I'll never forget seeing his face when he held her :) best moment ever

The best part of the hospital was the view from our room!
