Our Families come to Miami!

We had such a great time with our families! We love when they come visit. We ended up getting them at the same time! And we had a lot of laughs J they were troopers and held up in our little apartment.

We had a great time going to fabulous dinners, laying at the beach, watching movies, sleeping in, and exploring the wonderful area of Miami.

The night they got there we celebrated Liz’s birthday!

Here is Lincoln Road- a great place to take visitors for fun shopping and restaurants. All out door- sort of reminds me of Palm Springs.

I swear I saw this on somebody else’s blog… but this is seriously the coolest store in Miami on Lincoln Road- so I had to take a picture of it. The clothes are awesome! Just too bad they are so freaking expensive…

Fun at the beach

Here we are eating at the great restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. It has a great view because it’s right on the water.

I always get sad when they leave but what a great trip! We love you guys! Thanks for everything! xoxo

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend. We started our Saturday off with our tradition- yummy breakfast on our porch, a long walk around the area and then to the beach. We loved listening to conference over the weekend- I absolutely love conference weekend! The only thing I missed was seeing all of the fun Easter dresses at churchJ.

Then on Sunday we had our good friends the Cannons over for some yummy crepes and orange rolls. It was a beautiful day!

Strawberry picking

Almost every week my friends and I will take a drive and go strawberry picking. It’s only about 45 minutes away (and that’s because of traffic in Miami) and it has the most delicious strawberries!

Our Florida Apartment

Maybe this will help some of you to come visit us! We love visitors and now is the time to take advantage. I love to keep a little journal of the apartments we live in. It’s always fun to look back and remember the great memories! I’m sure some of you are laughing because you will see our same furniture that we’ve had… and we’ve just moved it all around. Oh don’t you know IKEA furniture. Actually no, I am a little sick of it. Ok maybe just our couch…being prego I get so uncomfortable on our little couch it is so frustrating. I am in the process of trying to ship some of our stuff in Utah out here… hopefully that will happen soon. We got pretty lucky to find this place... Jeff was ready to go home when a realtor came to him and said "oh come on- just come look- it's on an island". So of course he had to check it out.

Jeff and I live on an island called Brickell Key II. It's pretty cool- you take a short bridge over to it and it has a small market, a couple of restaurants, 1 hotel, and the rest high rise condominiums! It's awesome.

Here is the night view from our apartment

Every day I get to walk out to this right outside our apartment… yes it makes me happy J

This walkway is about a mile around the island- I do it about twice a day to get my little doggie out and we love it!

Here is the entrance to the island

This is the outside of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It is such a beautiful hotel! It also has a great restaurant inside that we like to take our guests to!

This is our private beach… no just kidding- I wish! This is the Mandarin’s beach. But whose to say we can’t just sneak in and use it?! Yes very easily done J

And here is the Mandarin’s pool

There are so many parks and grassy areas where moms will play with their kids and dogs- I can’t wait to bring our little girl here! Funny story- I took willie here one night to play with the other dogs… and there were some ladies doing yoga just a few feet over. Well they had balls, and cones and all the yoga stuff that I don’t understand. Well Willie sees these fun toys and just starts going after them and grabbing them with his mouth and running around like a mad man! Oh my gosh pretty embarrassing but hilarious. The ladies were yelling “get your dog!!” and I said “you’ve got to admit- this is pretty funny!” oh don’t we love our dogs that act like 2 year olds.

Can't wait for Easter

I always wondered when I was little why my mom would get so excited to buy me Easter dresses… I wasn’t always too excited to have her do my hair, pull it with bows and wear nice shoes. But what I do love is her leaving that memory with me… and now when I see little girls in Easter dresses I think of her.

I am so excited for Easter this year- I just wish I could get in my own big Easter dress with big ruffles and decorate the house like Martha Stewart. But one thing I can do this year is get so excited for my little girl to be in Easter dresses forever and ever. After this year I will have that beautiful baby all dressed up!

NOW I know why she loved it… I guess you need a little girl of your own to really appreciate it! So thank you mom!

Thanks to my cute mom and MOL- Lizzie, we had a blast at Janie and Jack. They were so excited they already bought our little girl her Easter Dress when she is 1 year old. I will cherish that memory of buying my little girl’s first Easter dress thanks to the cute mommies.

Love you both- thank you!
